"The Exonerated"

This is a new play based on the experiences of 11 people who were wrongly convicted of capital crimes and spent time on death row. The play, which has been running at the Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street, in Greenwich Village) on Monday nights since Oct. 30, has been drawing big audiences as well as a roster of big-name actors wanting to perform in the piece. Among the performers who have appeared are Charles S. Dutton, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Richard Dreyfuss, Steve Buscemi and David Morse; this evening's cast includes Cherry Jones, Martha Plimpton and Polly Bergen, as well as a musical performance by Cyndi Lauper.

Court TV - The Investigation Channel™ premieres The Exonerated commercial-free on Thursday, January 27 at 9pm ET/PT, the cinematic adaptation of the award-winning off-Broadway play of the same name. Focusing on the stories of six innocent people who spent years on death row before being set free, The Exonerated joins the roster of issue-related programming featured on the network, covering such controversial subjects as mandatory minimum sentencing laws, unsupervised police interrogations of juvenile suspects, political asylum, and now, capital punishment and wrongful incarceration.
The Exonerated features Academy Award®- winning actor Susan Sarandon, Danny Glover, Brian Dennehy, Delroy Lindo, Aidan Quinn, and introduces David Brown, Jr.

"Not In My Name"

"Not in My Name" is performed on the streets of New York City on the eve of executions in the United States. The play includes elements of song, Greek tragedy, and Artaud's Theatre of Cruelty to oppose state killing. Living Theatre co-founder Judith Malina directs the play.
